Cancer in the skin is an injury, a wound, a spot or any other alteration that tends to grow and persist on the tissue.

There are different types of skin cancer depending on the etiology. The less aggressive cancers are basal cell carcinomas and squamous cell carcinomas., Which, in general, can be treated in time. Basal cell carcinomas are the most frequent in the daily consultation with the dermatologist and tend to be a little less malignant. Squamous cell carcinoma tends to metastasize, but it can be controlled.

There is another type of skin cancer called melanoma, which is more difficult to eradicate. The melanoma originates from the moles and is very aggressive.

One of the main causes of cancer in the skin , undoubtedly, is prolonged exposure to sunlight. It is important to identify when and why it is important to see a specialist in dermatology .
