The throat and larynx cancer is a malignant tumor that affects the cells of the larynx where the vocal cords are located. The snuff and alcohol are the two main causes of the development of this disease. Depending on your location can be classified in supraglottic tumor ( above the glottis ), glottic and subglottic tumor tumor ( below the glottis ). Symptoms of throat cancer are often changes in voice, difficulty breathing and swallowing, hoarseness, cough, swelling and pain in the neck or neck expectoration. Early detection of disease is essential to increase the life expectancy of patients. The treatment is based on the extirpation of the tumor, while avoiding its extension to other parts of the body. Depending on the case, surgery may involve partial or total removal of the vocal cords, and sometimes you can choose one by treatment with radiotherapy and chemotherapy.
